Janna from North Raleigh asks, When do I need to start planning?
First of all, congratulations! Being engaged is such an exciting time for you, and planning your wedding should be a fun and memorable process! Determining when to start planning your wedding depends on a couple things; how far away your wedding will be and what kind of wedding you’re looking for.
If you’re looking for a lavish, must-attend event of the year, you need to get at least a few things figured out right away – the date of the event, the location, and if you’re going to want some help from a wedding planner. The date and location go hand-in-hand since both the ceremony and reception spots need to be available on your date. Most brides will determine a range of dates that they’ll want, then contact a few venues to see if they’re available on any of those dates. After a bunch of phone calls trying to match date and locations, that’s when many of our clients realize it might be somewhat overwhelming so they contact us. Obviously a planner will relieve a ton of stress.
Trust me, you’re going to be at least mildly stressed out no matter what, but at least this way you can truly enjoy the whole process. So after you’ve figured out the date and locations, with our without a planner, you probably want to start the real planning 8-9 months away from your big day. Can you put it all together in less than that amount of time? Of course you can, but you run the risk that the best vendors in the area are already booked.
I hope this helps! Don’t forget, you can always contact us for a free consultation!
