In the Office: March

The team at A Southern Soiree had a super busy—and super fun—March and we want to share what we’ve been up to with you! This was a big month for me as I became the newest member of the team!  I’m absolutely thrilled to be the newest event coordinator for A Southern Soiree and we figured that a new team member meant it was the perfect time for a team outing! We bonded over burgers and appetizers at Backyard Bistro before heading over to a Carolina Hurricanes game.  We had a blast cheering on the Canes and while our team didn’t win that night, we made it on the jumbotron, so we’re definitely considering it a win!

The following week, we headed to Tribeca Tavern for a girls’ night out. I can’t think of a better way to get to know my new coworkers than bonding over delicious cocktails. We swapped embarrassing stories and learned all about one another’s favorite foods, likes and dislikes.

We also set up a gorgeous tablescape for the Sutherland Bridal Show.  We chose a palette evocative of spring with a blush table linen and plum accents. Plum has been a popular shade with our brides this year, so we chose some stunning purple florals to bring the table to life. It was so nice to meet so many newly engaged couples at the event!

Gina was lucky enough to attend the Celebrity Cupcake War in celebration of Sugarland’s 5th birthday. It was a competition full of fun and tons of North Carolina accents. There were four teams in the competition and each team had a Sugarland pastry chef matched with a celebrity from the community. The celebrities were WRAL’s Debra Morgan, Coach Larry Fedora from UNC, WQDR’s Mike Wheless and Biggest Loser’s Ed Brantley and Heba Salama. Each team was challenged to use local North Carolina ingredients and were scored on how well they used these items. Congratulations to Debra Morgan and the purple team, who won the competition! We were glad to be a part of it.

We’ve certainly been busy around these parts and April is shaping up to be our very busiest month of the year! We are planning eight events all over the great state of North Carolina this month and we’re excited to roll up our sleeves and make the magic happen!
