Meet Liesl and Brandon! You might not believe it after meeting and talking with them, but this wonderful couple met on Tinder and had been together for a year before Brandon proposed! The way they are around each other, you would think they’ve together for most of their lives!
Liesl and Brandon both graduated from NC State University, but surprisingly never connected on campus. Luckily the online site matched the two together and they quickly realized how much they had in common. The rest is history!
They’ll be getting married this September at the beautiful State Club on NC State’s campus! We asked them to answer a few questions about themselves and the wedding planning process so far! Check out their answers below after looking at their AMAZING engagement images by Allison Vrhovac!
How did Brandon propose?
It was earlier this year in March. In the months prior, the winter rain was starting to wear on us so we decided to book a beach vacation. With passports in hand, we made our way to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The timing worked perfectly so we could get away during our one year anniversary.
The evening before our anniversary, Brandon arranged for a special, private dinner on the beach. It was absolutely stunning and very romantic. Luminarias lined a pathway to our table and we were the only ones on the beach. We listened to soft music and sipped our champagne, as it started to rain. Some of our best memories are in the rain, so we didn’t mind. We made our way inside and enjoyed a fantastic lobster dinner. After the rain cleared, we returned outside for dessert.
As we finished our chocolate torte, Brandon asked me to dance under the stars. I’ll never forget that night and our special moment. He said he wanted me in his life forever and after professing his love, asked me to marry him. It was incredibly special and just like something out of a movie!
So far, what aspect of planning the wedding has been the most enjoyable?
Brandon and I are self proclaimed foodies, so we really enjoyed planning the menu and all the tastings. The food and music will be the most enjoyable part of the event for our guests, so that is what we care about the most. While it’s our special day, we want it to be a great time and a big party for all our friends and family!
Do you have any advice for recently engaged brides, to help them stay stress-free throughout the planning process?
First, talk with your fiance and figure out your priorities for the wedding as a couple. Once you have identified what’s important, start there and then everything else will fall into place. For us it was the music and food, because we want our guests to have a great party. Once we felt good about those two things we were more relaxed about the rest of our planning.
Second, hire a wedding planner. We did the full service package, but even if you just go with the “month of” or “day of” service it will be well worth it! It gives you the peace of mind to know that the actual day will run smoothly. Having someone in charge to coordinate with all the vendors, answer questions, keep things on schedule, and take care of any mishaps, will allow you to focus on what’s important: enjoying your day and being in the moment.
What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?
We are most excited about seeing one another for the first time that day, holding hands during our ceremony, and being introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Sines for the first time!
What are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?
Excited, happy, and ready!
What made you decide to hire a planner?
It takes a lot to plan a wedding and can be overwhelming for any one person to handle alone. We wanted to enjoy the planning process and keep it as stress-free as possible. Having a planner helps in many ways. It saves you time and provides assurance that it’s all going to come together the way you want it. We have loved working with Gina, because we can trust that she is on top of everything and working on our behalf. I know that on our big day, having her there will make us feel completely at ease so we can relax and have fun!
