Sudie and Evin’s Outdoor Fall Wedding

If there was one wedding we could choose to go back and relive, it would definitely be Sudie and Evin’s amazing wedding weekend from this past November. Between the family history of the property (Grimes Plantation), to Evin’s Irish family putting on a play at the rehearsal dinner, to the overall beauty and fun from the day, it made for the perfect weekend and so many memorable moments.
Grimes Plantation has been in Sudie’s family for years and countless hours have been spent rehabilitating the buildings on the property to make it what it is today.  The ceremony took place on the lawn out front of the General’s House. Foxglove Fine Flowers adorned the giant tree in colorful lush flowers that made for a jaw-dropping altar! To keep the ceremony true to the property, we had guests seated on barrels of hay with custom wooden planks
atop. We always love it when couples are married by someone with a personal connection, but it was even more special for Sudie and Evin.  They were married by Sudie’s mother! Evin’s family was a big part of the ceremony too! Evin’s mom sang a traditional Irish Hymn that was absolutely lovely!
After the ceremony, we welcomed guests in the barn for cocktails and appetizers! Fun hay bale seating covered in quilts and adorned with market lights filled the bottom level of the barn. When it was time to reveal the reception area (upstairs level of the barn), we pulled back the draping to allow for guests to make their way upstairs! They were immediately greeted with a massive floral chandelier above the bar and the smells of delicious food stations by Scarborough Fare Catering! Sudie, Evin, and their friends and family ate, drank, and danced the night away! One last surprise of the night was a choreographed dance from Sudie and Evin to “Galway Girl” by Ed Sheeran (check out a little clip of it in the video below!).  It was the perfect way to end the night as Sudie definitely fell in love with an ‘Irish’ man, and Evin fell in love with a ‘Charlotte’ girl!
